Aliness Vitamin B Complex B-15 Methyl is a composition of 11 vitamins from group B in high enough doses and forms that guarantee full biological activity.
This supplement balances the level of group B vitamins in an excellent way and prevents form potential deficiencies. Because of the presence of vitamin B12 active forms and folic acid it is suitable for people with methylation disorders (e.g. as a result of MTHFR gene mutation) or increased homocysteine level.
Why methyl forms?
When using a multiwitamin formulation it is worth checking if the contained in the composition compounds are in such a form, which will allow for their unproblematic use according to the organism’s needs. The biggest problem concerns folic acid and vitamin B12. Vast majority of available on market supplements is based on their synthetic forms which are not suitable for everyone.
Scientists estimate that every fourth person is struggling with the problem of MTHFR gene polymorphism, often without even realizing it. This gene has a very important task in the organism - it codes the enzyme responsible for homocysteine metabolism. This defect closely correlates with folate deficiency because it prevents the transformation of biologically inactive folic acid to the active form of folates. So supplementation with regular folic acid in such people will be purposeless and will not bring any effects.
Similar is the case of vitamin B12. The cyanocobalamin available in most supplements, in order to be absorbed by the organism, has to go through a series of complicated processes. People with mutation of the MTHFR gene will not be able to properly metabolize it, which will further worsen health problems and methylation disorders. The solution to this is supplementation with an active, methylated form, exactly the same is put in the presented supplement.
Vitamin B1 (thiamine) – influences the work of the nervous, cardiovascular and muscular systems. The organism needs it to convert the carbohydrates supplied with food to glucose, which is the preferred source of energy. Moreover, it supports the breakdown of proteins and fats. Thiamine is also used by the nervous system. This vitamin is involved in the synthesis of GABA – a neurotransmitter responsible for mental well-being. In addition, it helps in the creation of myelin sheaths that surround the neurons, protecting them from damage.
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) – similarly to the abovementioned thiamine mentioned it is involved in the conversion of carbohydrates into the energy necessary for life. What is more, it prevents diseases of the cardiovascular system – it cooperates with folates to reduce the level of homocysteine. In addition, it helps to reduce the high blood pressure. High doses of this vitamin are used in the treatment of migraine pain and anemia. They also have a beneficial influence on bone density and reduce the risk of bone fractures.
Vitamin B3 (niacin) – supports the health of the cardiovascular system and inhibits the intensity of inflammation. It is an excellent regulator of the lipid panel, it allows to lower the level of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, and at the same time promotes an increase in the level of the beneficial HDL fraction. In the context of niacin, longevity is often mentioned. Researchers believe that as a precursor to NAD + it can slow down the aging process of the organism and increase its psychophysical efficiency. It is also often used to improve the condition of hair and skin.
Vitamin B4 (choline) – as a matter of fact, it is a vitamin-derived substance, although due to its functions and importance for the nervous system, it has long been included in the vitamin B group. It is still referred to as vitamin B4. It is essential for the construction of myelin, which determines mental abilities and proper motor coordination. In addition, it takes part in the synthesis of acetylcholine, which memory and other cognitive functions depend on. Choline deficiency is especially dangerous for pregnant women, as it can impair fetal development.
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) – helps to convert food into energy and improves the process of using proteins and fats. It acts as a precursor of coenzyme A, which activates a very large group of enzymes. It is also necessary for the production of adrenocortical hormones and promotes the correct response of the organism to stress. Moreover, it helps to maintain normal skin condition and prevents hair loss.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) – promotes protein metabolism, reduces the intensity of inflammation in the organism and participates in the synthesis of key neurotransmitters. What is more, it is essential for the proper functioning of the DAO enzyme, which is responsible for the breakdown of histamine. Therefore, supplementation can be beneficial for people with intolerance or hypersensitivity to histamine. Low levels of vitamin B6 correlate with high levels of homocysteine, therefore people with homocysteine disorders must take into account not only the supply of adequate amounts of vitamin B12 and folic acid, but also vitamin B6.
Vitamin B7 (biotin) – similarly to other group B vitamins, it affects the conversion of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. It is important for maintaining the proper function of the nervous system, it helps to improve the condition of the skin and hair. Moreover, it is essential for the production of myelin sheath that surrounds the nerves and facilitates the transmission of nerve impulses. Biotin deficiency is associated with reduced antibody synthesis and increased breakdown of T lymphocytes, which can impair the function of the immune system.
Vitamin B8 (inositol) – is a chemical compound that belongs to sugar alcohols, and because it can be synthesized in the organism it technically does not meet the requirements to be a vitamin. Like choline, it is a precursor to phospholipids that are part of cell membranes. In supplementation, it is often used in the treatment of PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and accompanying metabolic disorders. In addition, it positively affects mental well-being, reduces depressive-anxiety symptoms and reduces the frequency of panic attacks.
Vitamin B9 (folic acid) – in the presented supplement it appears as Quatrefolic®, or glucosamine salt of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid. It is a natural form of folate, which is characterized by the highest bioavailability and can be directly used in the organism. This compound is essential for pregnant women – supports fetal development, prevents neural tube defects, reduces the risk of perinatal complications. Additionally, it participates in the synthesis of the most important neurotransmitters. Finally, it conditions the proper metabolism of homocysteine, which is crucial for the health of the cardiovascular system.
Vitamin B10 (PABA acid) – it is a compound from the group of non-protein amino acids. It is commonly called a vitamin, although technically it should be classified as a vitamin-derived substance. It is an essential component of THF, i.e. tetrahydrofolic acid, which is involved in the methylation process and influences the transformation of homocysteine to methionine. It is also necessary for the organism to properly absorb vitamin B5. Moreover, it has a great ability to protect against the harmful effects of sunlight.
Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) – in the presented supplement as methylcobalamin, the most bioavailable form of this vitamin. It is responsible for the proper course of methylation processes. It acts as a cofactor of methionine synthase, which catalyzes the conversion of homocysteine to methionine. Additionally, it participates in the production of red blood cells. It also affects the functions of the nervous system and the synthesis of key neurotransmitters.
To sum up, Aliness Vitamin B Complex B-15 Methyl is a highly effective supplement which contains group B vitamins in the forms that can be directly used by the organism. It is recommended especially for people with elevated homocysteine level which indicates to disorders in methylation processes. It will have a great effect in people diagnosed with MTHFR gene polymorphism.
