Sanprobi 4 Enteric is a multi-strain probiotic preparation containing 4 strains of bacteria with proven effect – Lactococcus lactis Rosell®1058, Lactobacillus casei Rosell®215, Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell®52 and Bifidobacterium bifidum Rosell®71.
Each of these strains has been registered and deposited at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, and also authorized for use in the European Union, Canada, and Australia. The strains in the preparation have also been successfully tested for resistance to antibiotics. The safety of the product has been confirmed in both adults and children.
The product has hepatoprotective effects; it regulates intestinal function, strengthens immunity, and can also be used as a gastroprotective agent in the course or after an antibiotic therapy. Thanks to the DRcaps® formula, the capsules are resistant to hydrochloric acid and they dissolve only in the intestines. As a result, it is possible to obtain as many bacteria as possible in the target area.
Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell®52 (the original name Lactobacillus acidophilus) has the ability to produce special surface proteins that limit the adhesion of pathogenic microorganisms to the intestinal epithelium. In addition, it supports the immune response and inhibits the growth of some pathogenic bacteria.
Lactobacillus casei Rosell®215 – a strain found naturally in the intestinal microflora. It has the ability to resist the acidic environment of the stomach and bile salts, thanks to which it reaches the intestines, showing a probiotic effect. In addition, it supports digestion and (along with other strains), it may reduce the risk of post-operative infection.
Bifidobacterium bifidum Rosell®71 – like other afore-mentioned strains, competes with pathogenic bacteria, limits their multiplication and helps to maintain the proper immune response.
Lactococcus lactis Rosell®1058 has a beneficial effect on the intestinal tract, displays hepatoprotective effects and reduces the growth of pathogens.
Microflora and the condition of the liver
At present, a lot is being said about the multidirectional influence of probiotics on the proper functioning of the whole organism. However, the hepatoprotective effect of bacterial strains and the close relationship that occurs in the gut-blood-liver axis are rarely underlined. As it turns out, abnormalities in intestinal microflora, adversely affecting the intestinal barrier, may also contribute to pathological changes in the liver (particularly non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis).
Factors that favor this phenomenon include penetration of pathogenic organisms and their toxins and antigens into the portal system, production of free fatty acids with lipogenesis-stimulating effects or increased activity of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the enterohepatic circulation.
Strains found in the product effectively adhere to the intestinal epithelium and compete with pathogenic microorganisms (Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell®52 and Bifidobacterium bifidum Rosell®71 inhibit the adhesion of E. coli to the intestinal epithelium). In addition, they limit the growth of some bacteria (including S. aureus, L. monocytogenes, C. perfringens and B. cereus), and also have anti-inflammatory effects and affect the composition and metabolism of bile salts.
Optimal functioning of the digestive tract
Probiotics may contribute to the reduction of digestive and absorption disorders as well as gastrointestinal complaints. It was observed that supplementation of the strains found in the probiotic helped to eliminate the symptoms accompanying IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and also reduced the risk of stress-related diarrhea.
In addition, some strains (e.g., Lactococcus lactis Rosell®1058, Lactobacillus casei Rosell®215) produce enzymes that degrade lactose (β-galactosidase) and starch (α-glucosidase), as a result of which they may effectively support digestion and alleviate bloating.
Support of the immune system
The bacterial flora also plays an important role in maintaining the immune response at an appropriate level. It has been shown that the intake of oral probiotic preparations has a modulating effect on immune mechanisms. It was observed that the strains found in the preparation may reduce the risk of food poisoning and upper respiratory tract infections (including in children).
In conclusion, Sanprobi 4 Enteric is a specialized product containing 4 selected strains of probiotic bacteria. The preparation helps to maintain the proper composition of the intestinal microflora, relieves digestive problems and supports the immune response. In addition, thanks to the hepatoprotective properties of the precisely selected strains, the probiotic can also be used as an adjuvant in case of liver disorders.
