Pimentos (Capsicum annuum) - native to the Americas, in Poland, grown under cover, it has valuable medicinal and culinary properties (as a seasoning for many dishes). The raw material is dried fruit peppers (Fructus Capsici siccatus) and fruit immature (Fructus Copsici immaturus) containing: aromatic amines, protein, sugar, flavonoids, organic acids, trace elements (phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, calcium), vitamins (B group, C , P, E, provitamin A) and the alkaloid capsaicin, which has a thermogenic potential. Most of the substances present in the pepper shows antioxidant properties, affecting the proper functioning of the digestive and immune systems, increase metabolism, improve blood circulation and affect the level of cholesterol. Fresh pepper is a valuable seasoning for meats, salads due to nutritional and vitaminizing properties. It is a part of dietary vitaminizing, mineralizing and slimming supplements.
