Mountain Arnica (Arnica Montana), is grows in mountain areas of Europe, in Poland under strict protection in the environment. As food- and medicinal product it is grown. Inflorescence – anthodium, is a medicinal raw material of arnica (Anthodium Arnica interchangeably Flos Arnica), contain biologically active compounds: flavonoids (including astragalina, quercetin), choline, organic acids (e.g. chlorogenic, gallic, coffee), phytosterols, carotenoids and terpenes, tannins and thymol (essential oil). It is anti-swell, anti-inflammatory, diuretic and cholagogic, diastolic; improves cardiovascular system in coronary and cerebral diseases, antithrombotic, anti-inflammatory (enhances vein thrombus and adhesion prevention after operations and facilitates wound healing). Contraindications to use: in acute inflammation, rehabilitation after heart attacks, use of preparations containing digitalis. With the external use - contraindications apply to use on open wounds and with third degree burns.
