Black radish (Raphanus sativus niger) plant of Asian origin since the sixteenth century, successfully grown in Poland, its raw food and medical material is the root radish black (Radix Rapha nigri recens), containing sugars, gentian, purine, vitamins (B1, C), oil ethereal [bitter oil - Oleum Sinapis with properties similar to oil from the seeds of black mustard (Brassica nigra)] and minerals (magnesium, sulphur, calcium), cholagogic, strongly cholorgenic, antifungal, bacteriostatic, strengthening immunity, stimulates digestion. Also used in the form of juice squeezed from fresh root, and as a kitchen spice.
