Butcher's-broom (Ruscus aceleatus), a plant of Mediterranean climate, rich in active biological compounds, such as alkaloids, phytosterols, flavonoids and steroidal saponins (ruscin, ruscogenin, ruscoside). Used in the form of extracts improves blood circulation and is strengthening and sealing the walls of blood vessels and supporting the work of the kidneys (removal of excess fluid out of the body). Good oxygenation improves the transport of nutrients and their assimilation by muscle tissue. In the sports supplementation, an extract of butcher's broom is used rarely.
