Celadrin® is a patent-protected blend of stable and oxidation-resistant cetyl fatty acids, obtained in a proprietary oil esterification process. It most often consists of cetyl myristoleate, cetyl myristate, cetyl palmitoylate, cetyl laurate, cetyl palmitate, and cetyl oleate. In addition, Celadrin® may contain menthol. The preparation is available in the form of a topical cream or oral capsules.

Celadrin® has strong anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It is mainly used in the treatment of joint diseases. The exact mechanism of its activity is unknown. It is probably related to blocking the activity of COX-2 enzyme and inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory compounds. It is also credited with the ability to strengthen cell membranes and improve their integrity. Studies have also proven that Celadrin® quickly reduces the feeling of stiffness and discomfort within the joints, effectively relieving pain and increasing joint mobility.

Dosing: no precise guidelines. The most frequently recommended oral dose is 1000 to 1500 mg per day. In case of preparations in the form of creams, they are usually applied to the affected area (knee, wrist, elbow, hip area) twice a day.
