Goats Rue (Galega officinalis) - French lilac, Goat's Rue, herbaceous plant containing the active ingredients: alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, minerals (chromium), saponins and steroidal compounds guanidine (galegine, hydroxygalegine). It is insulin sensitive and enhances lowering of blood glucose levels, affecting the anabolic processes. It affects cholesterol levels. It is a diuretic, helping to get rid of excess water from the body. In the sports supplementation, Goats Rue is used due to the effect on insulin metabolism and the possibility of body fat reducing (also used by people on weight loss diet).
