Inositol hexaphosphate (IP-6) – the so-called phytic acid is an organic chemical compound commonly found in cereal grains, nuts and legumes. It is also produced in small amounts in the human body. It participates in the regulation of many cellular functions, is involved in the growth and differentiation of cells and DNA repair, and it further influences the metabolism of cholesterol, determines some functions of platelets and may stimulate the immune system. It also has scientifically proven antioxidant potential.

In some circles, inositol hexaphosphate is indicated as an effective tool to fight cancer. This thesis was formulated by an outstanding scientist, Abulkalam M. Shamsuddin, the author of the book "IP6: Nature's Revolutionary Cancer Fighter". However, the only studies that confirmed the anti-cancer properties of IP-6 were carried out on cell models or on animals. Three potential mechanisms responsible for the anti-cancer activity of IP-6 were identified. These include strong stimulation of the immune system, antioxidant activity and inhibition of angiogenesis.

In supplementation, inositol hexaphosphate is most often used to strengthen immunity, in the treatment of anemia as well as in prophylaxis of metabolic and civilization diseases. Due to chelating properties that may dangerously lower the level of iron, zinc, magnesium or calcium in the body, certain caution is advised with the use of inositol hexaphosphate..

Dosage: no standards for unit consumption.

Dosing depends on, among others, the purpose of supplementation. For prevention, doses ranging from 1,000 mg to 2,000 mg per day are usually used.
