Palmitoleic acid (oleopalmitic acid) is an organic chemical compound from the group of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA), belonging to the family of omega-7 acids. It is synthesized in small amounts in the human body. It is found abundantly in macadamia nuts and sea-buckthorn oil. A good source of palmitoleic acid is also oil obtained from fish belonging to the families of anchovies and herrings.

In supplementation, palmitoleic acid is used mainly to strengthen the condition of the cardiovascular system and to reduce the risk of civilization diseases. It may also prevent lipid disorders and metabolic syndromes. It has a beneficial effect on glucose and insulin metabolism, it promotes lowering of cholesterol and has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Thanks to the ability to raise the concentration of cholecystokinin, the acid suppresses the feeling of hunger and facilitates the fight with unnecessary kilograms.

Dosage: no precise dose has been established. Preventive care assumes doses of 200-250 mg per day.
