The white willow bark (Cortex Salicis) is a medicinal raw material containing active ingredients: flavonoids, phenolic glycosides, tannins, catechin, ellagic acid and salicylic acid, and minerals. Formulations with willow bark are an analgesic and anti-inflammatory, and by sealing the walls of capillaries, antithrombotic. They are used in the treatment of rheumatic diseases (in herbal blends) with inflammation manifested by raised body temperature and the weak diarrhea.
